1. Who are you?
My name is Aliyah, but you can call me “Liyah”. I am a North Carolina- licensed nail tech, based in Charlotte. My nail business is RoseGold Nails LLC. I am also a creative, as I sing, write, draw, paint, and dance, when I feel drawn to do so. I also retwist and style locs. To describe myself in a few words I am a businesswoman, a critical thinker, and am innovative. I am also an entrepreneur.
2. What is your blog, program, agency, or organization about? When did it start?
I began my entrepreneurial journey a few years ago at the very beginning of quarantine, March 2020. I started off twisting and styling locs, then grew fond of doing nails again. During quarantine, many people's spirits were low, and I knew that I loved to help and support. So I centered my business around sisterhood, support, and encouraging confidence. Not only by way of a good fullset or pedi; but speaking into my client's life when needed.
3. What is your mission? Why do you feel strongly about this particular area of interest?
My mission is to create a genuine home-based network of women, in order to birth a safe place for women to be women. All women, not just a particular esthetic or group. I feel strongly about this reasoning because there are many subconscious social/personal standards placed on teen girls, young adult ladies, and mature women. The girls need a peaceful break!
4. If someone asked for your feedback on how to live their best life, what would your response be in one sentence?
In order to live your best life "Master yourself, master your emotions, master your response/reaction, stand confident in what you believe in, and always strengthen your skill(s)".
