Editor's Note: A poem for my Sisters, "Sister to Sister"
Dear Sister,
I love you.
You are strong
like morning coffee,
Resilient like rubber
bands.
Beautifully and
wonderfully made,
Like the ocean, like the beach sand.
When I look at
you, all that I can do is smile.
Though sometimes
you are frowning,
Life can never keep you down.
"Why?" Because you Persevere.
As Paul said in 2
Corinthians 4:8-9
“8We are hard-pressed on every side, we are not crushed; perplexed, but not
in despair; 9 persecuted, but
not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
I admire you.
You carry your
strength with honor.
You walk with such
dignity.
You are a warrior,
a lioness,
Truly, when you
put your mind to it, you can be anything you want to be.
When you’re not
feeling up to it,
Just know that it’s
okay.
Get help, phone a
friend,
It’s not what we’re
used to, but
Where there’s a will, there is a way.
I’m rooting for
you, my sister,
I always want you
to win.
And if you fall,
just know
I am here to encourage you,
with prayer and faith, we will stand together,
and with God's strength, you will get back up
again.
Happy Black History Month and Be Encouraged,
We are stronger together,
Noelani
Amen speak truth and light into everyone. Heal the broken hearted and the poor in spirit. Hallelujah!
