Feature of the Week: Collin Knight, Founder of Live Like A Local Tours Boston

1) Who are you?

I'm a loving husband, father and son who enjoys time with his family and friends. I'm a Black entrepreneur who is dedicated to giving back to my community.

2) What is your blog, program, agency, organization about? When did it start?

I started Live Like A Local Tours Boston last year. A series of chartered, and walking tours to give people a chance to explore the food, history and culture of  Roxbury, Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, MA.

3)  What is your mission? Why do you feel strongly about this particular area of interest?

My mission is to give back while supporting local and black owned businesses in Boston. I feel it's important that people know the layered history of the neighborhoods. There's such a rich history that isn't being talked about and it's time we change the narrative.

Boston glorifies people like Christopher Columbus and Paul Revere, but they don't honor people of color who paved the way for racial equality and social justice. That's why Live Like A Local Tours makes it a point to speak of prominent people who have impacted our communities and dedicated their lives to making change.

4) If someone asked for your feedback on how to live their best life? What would your response be in one sentence?

"Always follow your heart and never let anyone derail your dreams with their negativity."

5) How and where can people find more information about you?
