Editor’s Note: We are Alive! Keep Hope Alive!

I have to say, It’s been a little pleasurable for me when it comes time for me to answer the most engaging question of the season “ What are you going to do after this Quarantine is over?”. It allows me to imagine and dream like the Imaginative Dreamer I’ve always been. I answer “ I am going to get dressed and dolled up, go to the Back Bay Area (one of my favorite places in Boston), and walk around and people watch. Thereafter, I will go to a nice restaurant and treat myself to a beverage and something appetizing, Maybe a lobster roll. Meanwhile, still incorporating Social Distancing. I look forward to just seeing people smile and happy to be back outdoors and their favorite shops open, but for now; I’ll wait, pray and sip my coffee.

In communication with some around this time, I have heard people say that they are “bored”, “depressed”, “feel imprisoned”, and even feel as their rights have been taken away. Many tire from not being able to do what they want or go as they please, including myself at times.. However; as TD Jakes reminded me in a recent sermon on YouTube. There are people in foreign countries that have it much worse. Some of us are here and we have cable, internet, are able to purchase food out, pay our phone bills, and we still complain. But what about those who have it worse? What about the disciples and people of the Bible (even many today), who were beaten up, abused, put in actual prison, crucified, and put to death just simply for their belief? What if we were subject to some of these things just because of our beliefs? Though we are in Quarantine, Many of us still have the right to share our beliefs and opinions, pray, have hope, share our hopes. I don’t know what I would do if I was rebuked or put away for having hope. Do you? I believe God would help me Persevere through it but it still would be very tough.

In the book of Matthew 24:9 Jesus tells his disciples that because of their following and belief in Him, They will be persecuted and put to death.

Matthew 24:9 Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.

Another scripture

Matthew 23:34  Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

And another

Matthew 26: 1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,“As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

Can you imagine being one of Jesus’s Disciples and He tells you that you can/will be beaten and killed because of your belief in Him? Even in the perspective of Today, people are Being  told their Life Expectancy due to health and other issues. But for those of us who are reading this right now, who are alive; We have Life. We have much to be grateful for. We may not be able to go as we please right now, life is different for many of us; however, if we can breathe, see, hear, call someone, we are doing much better and have more than many others. Let’s bring ourselves to a place of Gratefulness today.  Breathe in, Breath Out. Take some time to Thank God. You are Alive.

Be Encouraged,

Noelani
