Feature of the Week: Arilyn Martinez Cora, Producer and Founder of the Latino Film Market Inc.

1) Who are you?
My name is Arilyn Martinez Cora.  I am a entrepreneur, film writer, director and producer from Puerto Rico with a prime interest in promoting and informing the community about the Latino entertainment world, in film, television and online platforms.

2) What is your blog, program, agency, organization about? When did it start?
I founded the Latino Film Market Inc 3 years ago.  The concept of Latino Film Market came from the idea of integrating my expertise in the process of filmmaking from pre-production, production, post-production, marketing and promotion. Once a year, Latino Film Market organizes a film market event for filmmakers who do not have movie distribution. This event allows them to exhibit and sell their Latino films at a low cost. The funds they recover may then be used for their future film projects.

3) Why do you feel strongly about this particular area of interest?
I feel strongly about this area of interest because as a Latino, I have witnessed how difficult  access to movie distribution within this market can be. I believe we cannot wait until  we have doors opened for us to further develop and distribute content that looks like us. I want to open doors for Latinos all over the world.

4) If someone asked for your feedback on how to live their best life? What would your response be in one sentence?

"Always keep learning and re-evaluate yourself so you can grow".

5) How and where can people find more information about you or your organization?
FACEBOOK: Latino Film Market
