Devotionals: Hope for those in Exile (An interpretation from Micah Chapter 3 &4 )

Micah 3 1-4 Leaders and Prophets Rebuked
1 Then I said, Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice, 2 you who hate good and love evil; who tear the skin from my people and the flesh from their bones; 3 who eat my people's flesh, strip off their skin and break their bones in pieces; who chop them up like meat for the pan, like flesh for the pot?" 4 Then they will cry out to the Lord but he will not answer them. At that time he will hide his face from them because of the evil they have done.

Many Leaders and Prophets lead people astray with their evilness and injustice. They take advantage of the poor, of the suffering, of those who are unable to defend themselves. They strip these people to the core, they treat them like animals, like food. They have no care, no shame. But God sees this. He sees how these people in power and high positions treat his sheep. They may seem to get away now, but in the end they will be punished. They will be the ones who suffer, who perish.
Micah Chapter 4  talks about the new temple, the new land that will rise up on a mountain higher than any mountain on earth. A place where the lame and people in exile will go and find hope, peace; where disputes will be settled, where nations will not war against one another but sit in peace. We may not see it now, but one day, it will be here. Our God is not a God who make’s false promises. A time of Love and Everlasting Peace is coming.

Be Encouraged,
Noelani
